The rainbow trout is a species of trout native to cold-water tributaries of the Pacific Ocean in Asia and North America. The steelhead is an anadromous form of the coastal rainbow trout or Columbia River redband trout that usually returns to freshwater to spawn after living two to three years in the ocean.

It is also a very well known fish as the Lighting Rainbow Trout© which is a copyright trademark of Mount Shasta Trout Farm that gave it its name. It is still just a regular Albino Rainbow Trout which was altered as eggs in the Estern American States and imported to be grown nationwide. The Fun Fishery often hatches our own Albino Trout Eggs, too. Albino Rainbow Trout also can occour naturally in the wild at 1 or 2 in a million. Most does not survive the wild. Modern days has been stocking large Albino Trouts in the wild to attract fishermens. Although it was altered during the egg state to become albino, it is still the perfect gourmet Trout flavor and totally safe to eat.
