In general, stocking permits are not needed in these Counties;
AREAS WHERE CERTAIN SPECIES OBTAINED FROM A REGISTERED AQUACULTURIST MAY BE STOCKED WITHOUT A STOCKING PERMIT; Kern (except in the Kern River drainage above Democrat Dam) The permissible areas include the following counties or portions of counties: Alameda San Benito Stanislaus Butte Colusa Kings Napa San Bernardino Sutter San Diego Contra Costa Lake (except in the Eel River drainage) Tehama Orange San Joaquin Glenn Merced Riverside Ventura Imperial Los Angeles Santa Barbara Yolo Sacramento Solano Plus , the following counties west of Highway 49: Amador, El Dorado, Nevada, Tuolumne, Calaveras, Mariposa, Placer, Plus Yuba , Fresno, Madera, and Tulare counties west of the national park and national forest boundaries.
